Janice's Creating Crop

I do 2 Retreats for Stampers per year.  The next one is Friday and Saturday, February 27th and 28th.  It is held at the Racine Marriott Hotel on Washington Avenue.  It is so much fun.  Ladies of all ages come and do what they love to do Laugh, Enjoy their friends, Meet new friends, Eat and Stamp.  Some ladies have scrapbooked 15-20 pages.  Others have made 75 cards.  It is a blast.  Each person gets a round table that they share with one person.  I bring all of my ink pads and almost all of my stamps.  My Big Shot with all my dies, framelits and embossing folders.  Punches, embossing powders and heat gun.  Lots of ideas.  Display boards.  Prize Patrol goes on every couple of hours throughout the weekend.  A buffet dinner on Friday is served of Tacos.  Saturday lunch is served a pizza buffet.  Saturday dinner is served a sandwich buffet with to die for home made chips and dips.  The entire weekend cost is $75.  Contact me for more details and to sign up.  stampingwithjaniceb@gmail.com

I have been working on cards for break out classes if you need a break from what you are doing during that weekend.  I am also working on a canvas art class for that weekend.  What are you waiting for?  Contact me to be sure there is still room.  As of last night I have 7 spots left.  Hurry.  Janice

Emboss Resist

Yesterday I shared with you how to use the embossed cardstock that is FREE in our Sale A Bration catalog.  Today I have another card to show you.

This card we used a sponge dauber to put the perfect plum color on the white embossed cardstock.  Then wiped the little white flowers and they were white again.
The stamp set for the other flowers are painted petals.  They are going to be a great stamp set to make lots of Spring items.  I cannot wait to do Spring things.
The butterfly is a new framelit.  It is very popular.  I suggest you get it before it is gone or on back order.  It is truly a hot item.  I added the string of pearls to the body of the butterfly.

I am planning on making a framed art using the butterfly framelit and the painted flowers stamp set.  Watch for future art class.  Janice

Sale A Bration is here

I love this time of year.  I love to get free stuff.  During Sale A Bration everybody gets free stuff for every $50 they spend.  One of the very cool items is this white embossed card stock.  It has different designs embossed on each piece.  So you can do the technique of "Embossed Resist".  It is one of the coolest and fun ways to get a wow effect.

On this one I used my calypso coral blendability to color all over the card stock.  Where ever it is embossed it will just wipe right off with a paper towel or kleenex.  So you can make it match whatever color cardstock you are using in the rest of the card.  I love calypso coral.  That was the color I used in my wedding 34 years ago.  Yes before SU was around to help me color coordinate things.  I also used the calypso coral ribbon from Sale A Bration that I got for FREE!!!!  The stamp set is great.  I love tulips (oh how I am waiting for Spring).  This stamp set is a single stamp set in the occasion catalog.

What are you waiting for?  Go stamp and have some fun.  Oh you need to buy a few things.  Well go on over to my SU website and place your order and it will arrive at your house in a week.  createwithjanice.stampinup.net  If you want me to order for you contact me at stampingwithjaniceb@gmail.com.  I will help you to get what you need.  Happy Stamping  Janice

Sheltering Tree

So many of us love making cards with trees.  Well this stamp set makes it fun and easy.  Sheltering Tree is good for all 4 seasons we have here in Wisconsin.  I have shared a few cards with you that I have made using this stamp set.  The card today is one that we made in my 4 cards for $10 this month.  I offer this class twice during the month.  The next time will be Wednesday, January 28th any time from 2-8pm.  I have 3 openings left so if you are interested contact me. If you do not live in the area and would like to do this class through the mail, contact me and I will work it out with you.  I am very negotiable.

I wanted this card to look and feel like the winter we are having.  Well let me take that back.  I wanted it to look like a winter but I don't want to feel the real cold winters bring here in Wisconsin.  I love that the ribbon and designer paper match so perfectly.  That is just one of the many reasons I love Stampin' Up.  Janice

Fish

Today I am showing you a card I made with my hostess club this month.  We talked about that many of them do not send out many Valentines so they did not want to buy any stamp sets with Valentine Sayings on them.  I fell in love with this stamp set because it is easy for kids to use to make their own Valentines to take to school.  So I have a group of kids that are going to make Valentines to give to Housebound people.  I think I am more excited about doing this then they are right now.  But just put those stamps in their hands and they will be busting with smiles.

So this was my first version.  I used the dot paper from the Sale A Bration designer series paper.  I stamped on the paper using the memento tuxedo black ink.  I used that ink so that we could use the blendabilities.  The hello is a great framelit you just gotta have.  And the little pom poms are so cute.  People have asked if they come in any other color.  My response is nope not yet.  But I bet if we really like them SU will start coming out with more colors of them.  The color is calypso coral.  I added the silver sequins to give it a little more bubbly effect.

Here is the second one I made.  I changed it up and put the fish on the top.

Now you are asking how did I not get the words that are on this stamp set to ink up.  Well you cover it with tape, masking or scotch tape work just fine.  Ink up the stamp and then remove the tape and stamp.  It works like magic.  So guess what 2 of my hostess club members changed their mind and order the stamp set.  I gave them suggestions on how they could use the other stamp sets for other things besides Valentines Day.

So now which way do you like it better.  Fish on the top or the bottom?  Give me a comment so I know which way you like it best.  Janice

New Stamp Set

So sorry I have not been on here.  I have had some things in my personal life that I have had to attend to.  I have missed stamping this past week.  Well I am back and cannot wait to share with you what I am doing.
I am going to try blogging a little later at night and see if that fits into my family's schedule better.  But no matter what I am still stamping...........

So today's card is one stamp set I knew I had to have and the framelit that goes with it.  It is in the new occasions catalog.  If you do not have your occasions catalog contact me and I will be happy to get one in your hands.  This has been one of the catalogs I NEED almost everything in it.  And don't tell my husband but I have almost everything in it already.  I just could not stop myself.  This balloon stamp set is so versatile.  It has sayings for not only birthday, but congratulations graduate, new baby and I think there is another saying.  It is not only a balloon that is easy to cut out with the framelit, but it makes a wonderfully easy hot air balloon.  Up up and away..............  It also has bows, and streamers too.  So now look at the card and let me know what you think.  This card I also used the designer series paper in the Sale A Bration catalog.  I used soft suede ink and card stock.  The dots around the Happy birthday can be put on a balloon for designing your balloon but here I used it for decoration around the saying.

I am loving this stamp set and framelit.  If you want to own it yourself, connect to my Stampin' Up website and order it.  Remember for every $50 you order you will get to choose a FREE item from the Sale A Bration catalog.  createwithjaniceb.stampinup.net  Janice

3 step stamping

Now I know how many of you have not liked stamping with the 2 stamp process.  But using the new polymoyer stamps it is so easy.  And the results are beautiful.
I cased this from the SAB catalog with a little tweaking.  The flower is so easy.  If you came to my classes you would know how easy it is.  Some of my customers were so reluctant to do it.  So I made them do it twice!  Yes one on the front of the card and one on the inside of the card.  They cannot wait to get their hands on this stamp set.  So they are placing their order for $50 of product and getting this stamp set free.  It even comes with the word stamp set.  So a complete card.  You can do this in so many colors.  The trick is you stamp the darkest color first with the smallest stamp.  Then the second stamp you use a color that is lighter than the first.  The third stamp you can use the same color as the second stamp but stamp it off before applying it.  If you are having trouble contact me and I would be more than happy to have you come over and get a free lesson.

Valentines Day is just around the corner

I have been working on some kid valentines.  I hope to have some samples to show you.  My plan is to give you the option of making your own with your kids for one price.  Or I will make the valentines for your child to share with their friends at school.  So watch for them in the next week.

For now I have made a card that I saw on pinterest but I don't remember who did it (sorry I like to give credit where credit is due).  I changed it slightly and used a different stamp set and my heart framelits.  I ended up making mine into a thank you card for someone special.  I think you could make this for your favorite Valentine or for an anniversary or wedding card, etc.

Very elegant and clean.

This is the inside.

Celebrate a birthday

I am loving the gold sequins.  So here again I used the sequin trim and a few extra sequins.  It is so appropriate with this paper.  It is the Birthday Bash paper.  It has gold metallic balloons on it.  I used white embossing powder on the saying.  I felt that it was easy to make the words pop.  And of course I put it on Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I just love that color.  I am finding that I am putting a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of the DSP on the front of the card.  I feel like I am not wasting it plus if I put it on white cardstock now I have white on the inside to stamp and write on.  Try it you might like it.
You will find this stamp set in the Occasions Catalog along with the DSP.  If you are making birthday cards this will be two great finds.  Don't forget to plan a SAB workshop party or catalog party so you can get free items.

Moon Lake again

Moon Lake Stamp Set is just my favorite.  I was working on how to make this card using the stones paper from Adventure Bound (which I also love).  I saw on my friend Cheryl's blog that she had used the star border punch with gold paper behind it.  So I decided to take the glitter paper and put it behind it.  I felt it needed a little color so I added the little bit of Island Indigo card stock behind the blackboard cardstock.  I used whisper white craft ink to stamp the image.  This set is so amazing.  I added a little bit of the stone paper on the inside on the edge.  I always like to finish my cards on the inside.  I think that is so important.  Janice

Moon Lake

Moon Lake is the name of this stamp set.  It just sounds so perfect.  This is another set that I fell in love with right away.  Funny but SU did not demonstrate using this set.  I think because it was a no brainer.  It is so easy to use.  We are always looking for masculine stamp sets to use for the guys in our lives.  As I started working on this card I wanted to use some of the Adventure Bound paper.  I did not want to waste the paper.  It is just too beautiful. So I cut it in half.  Now it does not fit on the entire front.  But it sure fits nicely.  So then I added the stamp and popped it with some color behind it.  I was not wanting to ruin the duck so I decided my coloring it was not going to happen that day.  I do think it will be pretty if I put it on watercolor paper and used my aqua painter.  So maybe next time.  The water paper is so appropriate for all of the stamps in this set.

You're a gem

I forgot to add this to yesterday's blog post.  This is using the balloon again for a graduation gift card holder.  The holder is made from the smallest envelope liner framelit.  Super easy to make.  Just fold your cardstock and it can be folded easily.  I used the edges from my dimensionals to hold it together on the sides.  This also gave a slightly wider spot to slip the card or money into.  I added the string on the bottom because I just love that string.  And of course the banner was easy to cut out.  This one I did twice and cut the banner so I could have it hang down more.
So this next card is using a stamp set I would not have chosen to get.  But when I got it free for attending the Occasion Catalog Kickoff........ well I was not going to give it back.  Now of course I have found so many ways to use it.  This first one I cased from another SU demonstrator May Fish.  I loved this card and can think of some ladies that would love getting this card.
For those of you that love diamonds or jewels this is perfect for you.  I enjoy using our washi tape.  The gold ones have been the ones I go to first.  But I love how easy they go on and what they do for a card.  I also did not think I would like the sequins.  But as time went on I saw people using them and then I too said I gotta use this.  So I bought it.  Well now we have Bermuda Bay sequins!!!!!  They go on so easily.  Just use a glue dot.  Some times I put the glue dot where I want the sequin.  Then put the sequin on it.  Yes the sequins can be difficult to pick up.  But come on just lick your finger (or wet your finger with water, etc) and look it sticks to your finger and you have control of where it is going.
This stamp set works with the tag punch that is being carried over from the Holiday Catalog.  It cut out the striped area and You're a.  I stamped the words after I stamped the striped area.  Then punched it all out.    This stamp set has many different topics.  There is a cute duck for a baby card.  You light up my life stamp.  Check it out in the Occasions Catalog.

Birthday Balloons

This balloon stamp set has matching framelits.  So you can cut out the balloon, the bow, the banner so easily.  I have had fun making cards with this.  Everybody loves balloons.  Unfortunately with the latex allergies many cannot give balloons anymore.  So the next best thing is to make a card with balloons.  And since this is so easy to use you can make a lot of them.  This would also make good scrapbook pages for many different occasions.
This first one is easy to make for a birthday card for any age.
This next one is great for celebrating a new baby into someone's life.  I used the framelit on the white cardstock in two separate places.  Then added DSP behind it.  It is hard to see but I also put a window sheet on it so I could put some stars and sequins in it like a shaker card.  The last balloon I stamped the words on it then cut it out with the framelit (did I mention I love the framelits?).  Then I used a dauber to color the balloon in.
Remember Sale A Bration starts soon.  So get your order ready so you can get working on birthday cards, scrapbook pages, birth announcements, graduation announcements, etc.
