Poppies with Bumble Bee

OK I love Poppies.  I am disappointed that the poppy stamp set is being retired.  I don't know if I will depart with this stamp set.  Poppies come in so many colors.  This Spring I bought bulbs that are for these ruffled Fuchsia color to plant in my back yard.  Now if it would just get a little warmer I could maybe get that done.  Or maybe get my husband to plant them where I want them.

I made this card a few weeks ago using Melon Mambo ribbon.  Well when I went to cut for my flower card class I realized I did not have enough Melon Mambo ribbon left.  Yikes how can I be out of Melon Mambo.  Oh I guess when you love a color you use it a lot.  Daaaaaa  So I had to redo the card for class.  So I changed it up and used Garden Green and Tango Twist.  The main card is SoSafron.   I had found at a store these cute little bumble bees that had a dimensional on them.  So I decided to incorporate the bee into the card.
What do you think?  Which color do you like best?

Flower

So this card we are going to make this morning at the Flower Card Class.  I enjoyed creating this one.  It uses the stamp set Flourishing something (cannot remember the full name of it).  I thought that the flourishing stamp looked like a stem and leaves to a flower.  Then added two flowers on top of each other to create a fuller flower.  Best part is SU has a punch that matched the flower so super easy to get perfect.  I added the middle of the flower again using a punch (scalloped circle) and popped it with a dimensional.
The colors I chose were Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant and Sahara Sand.  I love the simplicity of this card.  Gotta run the ladies will be here soon to make this card.  Janice

Flower Class Ready

Tomorrow morning I have a Flowers Only Card Class.  It is always fun making cards with flowers on them.  I had fun coming up with different ways to use stamps with flowers.  This first card I fell in love with.  It is using embossing powder.  I have found using any of the new stamp pads SU has come out with you can use clear embossing powder and the color ink you use shows up beautifully.  This card I used versa mark ink on a white piece of card stock.  Then used clear embossing powder.
The stamp set is Blooming with Kindness.  It is one stamp set that is retiring.  I have loved this stamp set because it is so easy to use.  It also has great sayings for many different occasions.  In this card I used the soft sky ink pad and rubbed it on the card stock after I had embossed.  For the speckle look I used my favorite stamp set Gorgeous Grunge.  That stamp set is a must have.  OK so after rubbing the soft sky ink pad on the card stock, I used Blackberry Bliss ink with the dauber.  I put the color over the soft sky in as much of the space as I felt I wanted.  I loved the bold color showing through.  Then I took a tissue (Kleenex) and rubbed the ink off of the embossed area.  It just wipes right off.  I layered behind it with an eighth of an inch wider piece of soft sky.  I only wanted a little of it to show.  On the inside which I did not take a picture of I stamped the flower in the Blackberry Bliss and then Soft Sky, by stamping off so the colors were more subdued. Hope you like this card and try it yourself.  Remember that this stamp set is retiring.  Order it before it is gone.  Janice

SU Demonstrator Event in Minnesota

I am back from my trip to Minnesota.  It was a blast.  Time flew.  I met some new SU friends.  The event was done so well.  I applaud the SU leadership in Minneapolis.  They did an awesome job.  Thank you to each and every one of them.

So now that I am back I have been trying to catch up on my life back in Racine.  Today I am going to share with you my swaps that I shared.  They were grabbed by many of the demonstrators so I was proud of what I had to share with them.  One was from my last post with the iridescent ice on the flowers.  So I won't post that for you again.  You can see it in last Friday's post.  Here are the other two that I had.

They are the same layout just using different DSP.  The top one was a hit for those that love bright colors.  The bottom one was a hit with those that like gold.  So which one did you like best?

Now here is a swap I got that was different than what I tend to make.  But I liked it.  I don't have her name right here with me.  But I will get that for you by tomorrow so credit is given where credit is due.

I really liked the colors.  Not a difficult card to make.  So I might have to experiment with this one.  Gotta run and get ready for my card class this afternoon.  I hope to do a little stamping before they get here.  Janice

Flowers

Today I have another flower card.  Yes I am looking forward to flowers.

This card the picture does not do it justice.  It is a stunning card, if I do say so myself.  My hostess club members loved it. You cannot see the iridescent ice on the card.  It is all over the piece of card stock that has the flower on it.  If you look closely you can see in the picture it glisten on the white around the flowers.  But it is over the flowers too.

How you do that is stamp and color it.  Then lay the piece on your versa mark pad.  Completely cover it with versa mark.  Then sprinkle on the iridescent ice embossing powder.  Cover it completely.  Then shake it gently to get loose embossing powder off.  Heat set it.  It is beautiful.   I used my blendabilities to color.  I am sorry they are no longer available.  You can also use your blender pen or aqua pen to color the flowers.  The colors I used were Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi and Crumb Cake.  The bow is the binding tape ribbon SU sells in Calypso Coral.

I have made a number of extras of this card to take to swap at a Stampin' Up event in Minnesota with my Stampin' Up family this Saturday.  I am looking forward to this event.  After the event I am driving to Menomonie Wisconsin to see my best friend from college.  We have not seen each other in at least 15 years.  I am so excited to spend time with her.

My being gone this weekend means that I won't have any time to blog.  But when I get back then I will share some of the swaps I got and any stamping news............  Take care and have a fun stamping weekend.  Janice

Tulips

Today's card has one of my favorite flowers in it, TULIPS.  This stamp set is retired but it is one I have not wanted to part with.  My tulips and daffodils are just starting to come up.  So I am hoping that we do not get any more cold weather to freeze them and kill my flowers.....

I used my blendabilities to color this in.  I know many of my customers have theirs so they can use them to color with.  But if you do not you can use our markers and or blender pens.  I love the clouds in the sky.  I used the DSP sweet Dreams.  Just love that paper.  I did some masking so the flowers would look more natural.  What do you think?  Janice

April Showers Brings May Flowers

I had off of my day job on Thursday.  I spent most of the day at home creating cards.  What fun that was!!!  It was so great.  I was on a roll.  The stamps were just stamping so beautiful.  I did not run into a time where I was frustrated because I could not stamp right or things were going on crooked, etc.  I know you have had those moments too.  But Thursday it did not happen for me.  It was the most relaxing day for me.  So Thursday night I finally decided to take pictures of my creations but I could not find my camera.  I looked everywhere I usually have my camera.  I was so frustrated.  So no post for you on Thursday.  Then Friday I went back to my day job for a training day (which was excellent) and I went in my purse and there was my camera.  Now why I put it in there I am clueless.  But I am moving forward and grateful that I found it within a short period of time.  OK enough rambling.  You are here to see a card.

This card is for all the rain we got here in Racine, Wisconsin.  Thankfully we did not get the tornadoes that Illinois got.  My husband and I have a friend that lives in Rochelle.  His house did not get hit but everyone 20 feet from him was destroyed.  We are praying for everyone there.

I love the boots.  This is one of those stamp sets that you either love or you look the other way.  I would love a pair of those boots for Spring.  I also used shades of my favorite color orange.  The bow, main card and boot are Calypso Coral.  The brown is Soft Suede.  The DSP is from the paper from SAB (Crisp Cantaloupe color).  The saying is You are my Sunshine.  Inside I stamped a sun.  Hope you enjoy this card.  I would love to have a simple comment from you.  Have a super sunny day.  Janice

Hope

This card today is a simple card that anyone can make.  I'm sorry I don't have much to say today.  You might be glad I'm a little quieter today.  I don't know if you don't respond.........  Janice

Typeset Paper

Last week I showed you a card made with the typeset DSP with flowers stamped on it.  The design on that paper was like a newspaper.  Today I have one with graph paper.  It is so fun and versatile.  This time I stamped used Mossy Meadow ink the ferns.  The back ground print on the main card is a stamp that is in the same stamp set.  It makes such a cool look.  It is like using the gorgeous grunge stamp set.  You just gotta play with this.  I added Calypso Coral with the Mossy Meadow.  Love those two colors together.  The ribbon of course matches (Mossy Meadow).  Enjoy your day.  Janice

Flowers

I love this time of year.  Spring reminds me that the flowers will be coming soon and then is summer.  Ahhhhh  Warm weather is really coming to Wisconsin.

Tomorrow is Easter.  God Bless You.  Enjoy your family.  Be grateful for everyone in your life.  Life is what we make it.  Make your life centered with God.

Today's card is another flower card.  I told you that this month would be filled with flowers.  I want flowers to be all around us by May 1st.
This card I stamped on the typeset paper.  It is thinner than the other DSP Stampin' Up has to offer.  It is wonderful to work with.  Why I have not used it much is a mystery to me.  I stamped the flowers using Black Stazon ink.  Then I stamped the biggest flower on Very Vanilla and cut it out.  I used my blender pens to color the flowers and leaves in.  I wanted to shade it as well as I could.  I popped the biggest flower to add more to the flowers.  The colors I used in this card are Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, and Rich Razzelberry.  I hope you like this card and want to make it with me at one of my classes this month.  Janice

Butterfly Wishes

A few days ago I posted a card using Strawberry Slush on the embossed cardstock.  Today I used Crisp Cantaloupe on a different design of the embossed cardstock.  I only colored in a section to draw your attention up the card.  I added the Night of Navy butterfly I cut out easily with the butterfly framelit and used wax paper.  I added the couple of pearls to add a little embellishment to the card.  I love butterflies.

Enjoy your day.  Janice

Cardmaking with Ladies from Franksville Church

I just want to say I had a very good time yesterday with new friends.  It was so much fun making cards with ladies that were not all sure that they could make a card.  So many people feel that they cannot make cards because they are not creative.  Do not worry.  I can design cards for you to make.  It takes the pressure off of you.  Just ask the ladies at the Methodist Church in Franksville.  They did an awesome job.

Here is one of the cards that they made.
They loved the Melon Mambo color with Crushed Curry.  They said they felt like they were working with fruit as I was teaching them the colors and other fun things about stamping.  Thank you Penny for inviting me to share my love of stamping with other ladies.  They too are starting to love stamping.  God Bless each of you.  Janice

Spring Flowers go Vellum

Today's card is one of my favorite cards I made this past weekend.  I love the simplicity of it yet it is so stunning.  I used the flower embossing folder on the front of the main card.  Added 2 quarter inch strips of Strawberry Slush cardstock at a diagonal.  I used the embossed cardstock from Sale A bration (which is over now so sad) and I used Strawberry Slush ink over it.  Adhered that piece to the whisper white piece allowing just a small portion of the Strawberry Slush piece behind it to show.  The next fun part was adding the flowers that I embossed in white on vellum.  Punched those beautiful flowers out and added a small Smokey Slate button to the middle.  I used one glue dot to adhere it to the front of the card.  Wouldn't you just love getting this card?

I found the metal J at Hobby Lobby.  I have been trying to decide how to add something so when you print out one of my cards you will remember that it was made by me to inspire you.  So what do you think?  Is this card a keeper?  And do you like the J?   Janice
