Crazy Owl

Feeling a little crazy today.  Trying to get ready for my Creating Crop this weekend.  My good friend Kyla is a great help.  She has been with me through thick and thin.  The good times and the bad.  She has always given me support.  Thank you Kyla!

Well today's card is for all those friends we have that make us have fun and laugh.  Doing crazy things together is so healthy.

I saw someone make this owl with the ice cream cone on it's head (sorry I cannot remember who or where I saw it).  I just had to make it.  We all go a little crazy.

Doubles Card Class

My doubles card class is being offered this month at my Creating Crop at the Racine Marriott.  It fell on the weekend that my crop was so I decided to let stampers come and see what fun we have at Janice's Creating Crop.

Here is one of the cards they will be making doubles of.  If you are interested in attending be sure to contact me.  I only have 3 more spots left.  The cost is $15 or FREE with a $20 order.  Plus this month you get to see all kinds of displays and what others are working on.

Flowers

I love this card.  It is easy, clean and simple.  Wild about Flowers stamp set is in the main catalog on page 74.  I did a product class using this stamp set.  Part of the reason I choose this stamp set was that all stampers can use this and make great cards.  This one I used Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder and Tempting Turquoise.

I popped the flower piece up with dimensionals.  Just gave it that extra pop.  So what do you think?

Autumn Leaves

Fall is definitely in the air today.  Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day.  A day where you want to sit in the sun and enjoy the warmth that we know here in the Midwest will soon be gone.  Then last night the chill in the air but oh how well we can sleep.........

Well this card today is one that is for my Hostess Club this month.  3 of the ladies came yesterday to make their cards.  This was their favorite one.  We all love the leaves that have easy to use thinlits to cut out the leaves.  I used Crushed Curry cardstock with Mossy Meadow ink for the leaves.  It made the leaves have a slight brown look to them.  The acorn is so easy and fun to do.  We used Soft Suede cardstock with Early Espresso ink for the top and Soft Suede for the bottom of it.  Best part was that SU has a punch to easily punch it out.  Love it............

I don't know if you noticed but I also used one of the Into the woods elements in the right corner.  Love those.  You will find them on the bottom of page 43 of the holiday catalog.  I have used them a number of times.  They add that little something to finish a card.

If you know my style, I do clean and simple cards.  This card was much busier than I normally do.  But I will say that I could not leave anything out.  My hostess club members said it was their favorite.  So I guess at times we all need to come out of our comfort zone and try something new.

Enjoy.  I gotta run to my day job.

Flowers

I am a little late tonight getting on here.  But I have been trying desperately to learn how this new computer works.  Everything is in different places.  I am actually having to take notes because I do something then I go to do that same thing again and I cannot remember how I did it.  Simple things such as printing is so different on this pc.  But when I do figure more out I am sure I will be saying wow this works so great.  I will say I already like the new keyboard!  I think I will need to have a computer whiz come over and show me a few things while I take some notes.  My poor husband, Paige is very frustrated.  He had a difficult time with the old computer.  This is way over his ability.  So I have had to write simple instructions on how to get to his email.  That is as far as he has gotten.  And even that he doesn't even want to attempt much unless he really has to.

Alright enough about my learning curve.  Today's card is one that I just love.  I did use my blendabilities but you could definitely use a blender pen or aqua painter to do this card.  I think I will be having my Hostess Club this month do this card.

I used Melon Mambo as my color choice.  I stamped the flowers randomly in a line going down.  Then the Melon Mambo pieces were put on the extra white pieces.  I used dimensionals on the white pieces.  I wanted the flowers to really look like they were underneath.  Almost like they were peeking out.  I cut the one flower out and popped it too.  You cannot see in this picture the inside.  I put another flower on the corner of the inside.  Keep on Stamping and I will keep on Sharing.  Janice

Flower Wreath

This wreath was so fun to make.  It is also very easy. You could do this in many colors.  I chose Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo.

I used the brick wall embossing folder.  It is definitely one of my favorites.  I then took a 2 1/2" white circle and placed it on the brick wall.  Then added my flowers around it.  So I was sure to make it even.  Such an easy little trick.  I also punched out the green leaves from the bird punch.  I only wanted the leaves and not the long branch so it was even less cardstock used.  I put the leaves on and then added the flowers.  To top it all off I added little pearls in the middle of each flower.

So now what colors are you going to make it in?  I can see real red flowers with some having white chalk on them softly to look like poinsettia for the holidays.  Get your mind thinking.  Give me a comment and let me know your thoughts.

Minions

So this is my version of the minions.  The one on the stick is to be used in a cupcake.  I thought that would make a cute decoration for someone's birthday.  It should probably be for a young child's birthday but I know many adults that are in love with these minions.

So how did I make it you ask.

Main body - daffodil delight using owl punch (then cut off the top ears and the feet)

Hands and feet - basic black use owl punch feet

Arms - small flower punch cut each petal for an arm

Pants - pacific point from owl punch

Straps - I cut part of the pacific point into strip

Black strip cut by hand and added a goggly eye

Black strip cut 3 times for hair

If the back of him is going to be seen then you would want to add another daffodil delight body to the very back and maybe add a pacific point piece half way for his pants in the back.

I chose to just add the wide oval in whisper white so that I could put the stick on the back of him and then put the oval.

Hope you like him.  I will have a bucket of supplies at my Creating Crop Sept. 25th and 26th.  Croppers will be able to make him so they too can learn how to make him.

At the upcoming Craft Fairs I will be at, I will be taking orders from people that want me to make these for them.

Keep on stamping and I will keep on sharing.

I am alive!!!!

I am so sorry I have not been able to blog for soooooo long.  It has been awful.  I have had computer problems and those of you that know me I am definitely not a computer savvy person.  For two weeks I could not figure out what was wrong.  Finally my husband and I took the computer in and the young guy looked at us and said this is really outdated.  Well I knew it was true.  But now we had to decide what we would do.  So we decided pretty quickly that another desk top was the route to go.  Well of course it was the holiday weekend so nobody was available to put it together for us.  I tried to be patient waiting for it.  But that was really difficult.  We finally got it this afternoon.  Then how do we find anything?  Everything looks different!  My husband gave up.  I got home and it took me an hour to figure out how to open my emails.  Then I realized that all of my favorites are no longer there :(  What do you do?  Oh I do have my IPad with most of the same favorites.  But no time to do that.  I gotta get to my blog and start blogging.  So here I am.  Home again home again!!!!

Now where do I start.  I have been stamping even though I have not been able to blog.  So what do I share first.  Well I am going to share a card we will be making at my card class this Saturday at 9am.  I do have a few openings left so contact me if you would like to join in on the fun stamping.

I love this card.  If you are not a Halloween fan you can make this into a great Autumn card.  It is using the seasons stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.  The entire scene is one stamp that I did in black.  Then I added So Safron with a dauber over the entire scene.  Then took Smoky Slate and used a dauber to make the darker sky.  The Tangerine Twist was the orange I used to color in the pumpkins and leaves.

The Designer Series Paper has the large spider webs and spiders on it.  Then I stamped the spider and spider web in the corner of the inside of the card.  You cannot see it but on the bottom right front of the card I also stamped BOO.  On the inside I stamped Have a Happy Halloween.

This card has a fun fold.  I cut off and inch and a half from the front panel.  So when the card is closed you see an inch and a half of the inside.  It allowed for the spider web and BOO to be shown even when the card is closed.  The extra piece on the front I put adhesive only on a small portion of the back side to stick to the card front.  I placed the piece so the right side of the extra piece lined up with the right side of the back of the card.  It is a fun way to add excitement to a card.

Remember if you want to make this card and 3 other cards make sure you contact me to save a spot for you.

Keep on Stamping and I will Keep on Sharing.
