An Open Heart Stamp Set

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  Now that we are all stuffed it is the month of everyone being so busy.  The hustle and bustle of the holidays should be fun.  Enjoy it.  If you start not enjoying it stop and breathe.  Take a moment and remember that it is not how much anyone gets or how much you decorate.  It is the love and joy of the season.  God Blesses us all each and every day.

This card I have wanted to do for a long time.  I love this stamp set so much I bought it twice.  Now don't tell me none of you have done that!!!!!!!!!  The funnier part is that I bought it once in clear and once in wood.  I decided I would keep the wood and give the clear as a gift to someone special.

I used Always Artichoke as the card base.  I then layered Cherry Cobbler.  Then Whisper White.  I used the Cherry Cobbler Marker for the berries.  The leaves I used a blender pen with Always Artichoke ink.  For the bird I used the blender pen again with Crumb Cake the added highlights of Chocolate Chip ink.  It was simple and clean.  On the inside we stamped the branch of leaves but did not color them in.  Again this card can be used for many different occasions.

Tuesday Tipster

Ribbons and ribbons and more ribbons.  I love ribbons.  You may have already noticed that they are in colors.  Yes I find it easier to have them in the color than in the same kind of ribbon.  I have tried both ways and seem to always go back to color.  I took a box which you can see below.  Yes it is another box from Michael's.  I told you I had a number of them.  But I use them all.  So it is ok.  You can see on some of my rolls of ribbon I have blue painters tape holding it in place on the roll.  I don't like it when the ribbon hangs and rolls off and gets all tangled.  Not that mine don't ever do that.  But I do try to make it less often.  I used the card board that comes in the back of the DSP packages and cut those to make rows.  Again always making use of items I have.  Cost savings!!!!  I don't have a picture of it but I so have a container of little scraps of ribbon.  I will be honest with you it is too difficult to find what I am looking for so I don't go to it as often.  I bring it to my crops and let customers have it for their project.  If it is not easily accessible I don't use it.  But the fun part about it is that the container is from my Tide Laundry Soap.  I bought the packet that you throw into the washing machine.  Well the container was so practical and cute I had to come up with another way to use it.  My husband said I bought that for the container not the soap.  I took the label off it and so now it is see through and it has a nice lid that pops open and closed.  Now if I could just figure out how to locate it closer to my ribbon box maybe I would go to it more often.

Christmas Cuties Elf

I told you a few days ago I would share with you another card I used the Christmas Cuties on.  Well here he is.

Doesn't he just make you smile?  I love how he is jumping or running and having fun.  The saying I did for this one is "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas".  My hostess club members loved how the garden green card stock piece was the same size as the white piece that they stamped him on.  We just slid it so that only one corner of the garden green was hidden.  We added the Home for Christmas Enamel Dots (found on page 9 of the holiday catalog).  I love these.  There are 2 sizes and 3 colors.

Afterwards we decided that he needed a little sparkle to him so the hostess club members were going to add some dazzling details to him.  For many of them this was the last card they made that day.  So they did not want to smear it while going home.  Dazzling details takes a little while to dry depending on how thick you put it on.  And we know some of us get carried away...........

One of my customers chose to use the little angel instead.   It turned out adorable.  I have plans for the angel for another card.

Christmas Cuties

Today's card was a favorite at my last 4 cards for $10 class.    Here it is.

He is sooooo cute.  I used Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede markers.  I love how he stands with his arm out because the snow jacket is so big and bulky.  He is very easy to color.  Yes my customers would have liked to have a framelit to cut him out but he really was not difficult to cut out by hand.  I added the beautiful white glitter ribbon (found on page 29 of the holiday catalog).  It added that touch to make him look like he is standing in the snow.

This stamp set is the one that caught my eye the first look at the Holiday Catalog.  I knew I would get it.  I loved the whimsical look.  I love the sayings too.  This one says "it's the most wonderful time of the year!  I have another one I will share with you soon that my hostess club members got to make.

Sheltering Tree

The card today was made at my class last Saturday.  I love the simplicity of this card.  It is clean and refreshing.  It can be used for so many different occasions.  It is hard to see but I added rhinestones on the tree branches to sparkle like icicles.  I added the red dazzling details to look like a bird feeder hanging from the tree.  We cannot forget the beautiful birds all winter.  They too need to eat.

I also added dazzling details to the bottom of the tree to look like snow on the ground.  So what do you think?  Clean and simple.  What would you use this card for?

Fall leaves

Those of you that know me well, I love warm weather.  This November so far has not been too bad.  I know we will have the bitter cold and snow (naughty word) soon.  I love the sun and wish we saw it more often all year round.  I will say I do enjoy the colorful leaves in the Autumn.  This Autumn I have enjoyed making many cards.  If you do not have the leaf framelits I am so sorry for you.  They have been my go to item for a couple of months now.  Today I am showing you a card we made at my 4 cards for $10 class on Saturday.
I love how well the Vintage Leaves stamp set (found on page 88 of the main catalog) can be stamped with one color or more.  I have found I use the daubers a lot with this stamp set.  Then I cut them out easily with the Framelits that go with them.

On this card I cut the burlap ribbon in half so it was not so dominant on the front of the card.  I then added 3D by using the Expressions Natural Elements found on page 160 in the main catalog.  I love these.  They add so much to a card.  I used the fine-tip glue pen (found on page 43 of the holiday catalog).  I know this item has been very popular and is on back order.  But SU is getting more in so place your order so you will get it soon.  It is very helpful when trying to put something on that is thin and fine.  Letters and thin strips of card stock go on and stay on.   I also added the Into the Woods Elements in the top left corner (found on page 43 of the holiday catalog).  Love these too.

OK so I will be sad when I cannot make any more colorful leaf cards.  But that means it is going to snow............  I will try to get excited about the snow.  I do love snowmen.  So get ready for lots of cards made with snowmen in them in the near future.

Male Card

This is another male card we will be making in my Doubles Card Class this Saturday at 9am.  The cost is 10 cards (5 designs make doubles) for only $15 (or FREE with a $20 order that day).  This is a popular class so make sure you contact me to get a spot.  Again that is this Saturday, November 21st at 9:00am.

I thought this was appropriate for the hunters in your life.  Congratulating them on their successful hunting season only boosts their egos more.  So go ahead and let them feel good about it.  Plus while they are hunting we are stamping!!!!!!!  Right?

This stamp is from the Wilderness Awaits (found on page 86 of main catalog).  This is a great stamp set for the men in your life that love the hunting season and/or outdoors.

Tuesday Tipster

Another tip for you to organize your stamping items.

Here is another container.  I have had this container for years.  I love it.  The yellow handle holds the lid in place.  It is nice to have it lock in place so I do not worry that it will fall off.  Below you will see the container open.  The yellow tray fits on the top of the box.  I put my tray, embossing buddies, versa mark, brush to help clean up on that tray.  Then in the bottom I have two little white trays that each have embossing powders and glitter in.  Easy access makes life easier for me.  You could put your heat gun in there too.  I don't have mine in there anymore.  My husband made me a wood stand for it.  So mine is always ready to be used.  If you are interested in buying one he will make it for you.  The cost is $12.

Fox

So this card I made into a birthday card.  I actually think the fox could have been for a foxy lady.  But I was trying to make some male cards.  So I went with this one.  Very simple.  Not time consuming.  Well you know that males don't tend to save the cards they get.  So make their card simple and to the point and they will appreciate it.  The fox is from the stamp set called The Wilderness Awaits on page 86 of the main catalog.

Here is the inside of the card.  Again clean and simple.

Tuesday Tipster

It has been fun sharing my tips for organizing with you.  Many of you have said thank you.  I appreciate your feedback.  Remember that you can be notified when I post.  All you have to do is sign up to receive and email when I post.  You can sign up on the right hand side of my blog.  If you have trouble let me know and I will be happy to help you.  I don't want you to miss out on any important information.

Embossing folders and framelits.  We all love our Big Shot.  Sometimes I wonder how I survived without mine.  If you don't know by now I am an organizer accessories junky.  I love containers.  I love using them.  I love the look of them.  I love the practicality of them.  I just love them.  So when I saw these trunks at Michael's I knew I had to have one.   Well I have a number of them now.  But today I am going to show you how I use it to store my embossing folders and framelits.

I love elephants.  So you can see the bottom right side of the trunk has an elephant with a monkey on his head.  OK so this is probably more for a child but I love kids too.  So I had to have it.  It is hard to see but on the sides it has rope handles to carry it.  Works great for me.  At my crops I bring this for everyone to use my folders and framelits.  My husband also appreciates the handles when he is loading my car.  So I tell him I got it for his benefit.  It works.  hahaha

Here it is open.  It stays open very nicely.  I got even more organized by labeling all of the framelits by using my label maker so I could read it quicker.  Then I even put them in alphabetical order.  Oh yes.  It really does help.  So on the left side are the framelits and then half way on the right side is framelits.  The embossing folders are on the right side in the back.  In the middle of the box I usually have wax paper so it is there when I need it.  We need to have everything at our finger tips.

So I hope this helps you to think in and out of the box.

Tuesday Tipster

Many of you are now enjoying my tips on organizing.  Here is another one of my favorite ways to keep my stamping items organized.

Now I know many of you have thrown out your shoe organizer.  It is ok.  You can buy another one.  They are not that expensive.  I got the clear one so I could see what I had in it.  I hang mine over the closet door in my craft room.  You can see the pink sticky note I have on the door reminding me of what I need to get.  I store my paint brushes, goo be gone, rubbing alcohol, extra crystal effects, spray bottles, hair gel (for techniques) and any other items I do not use often and might forget I have.  It is nice to be able to see these items easily.

So what do you think of that tip?
