Boo!

I love Halloween for the fun and laughter.  I do not like scarey movies, but as a kid I loved going to the scarey looking houses.  Maybe you can relate to me about how it was safe for us to go trick or treating at night....  I remember going for hours.  We would walk so far.  Come home and empty out some of our candy so it looked like we had just started trick or treating.  We were sneaky.
But now I love the colors that are so vibrant at Halloween.  At this time of year, witches are fun to talk about and see.  I love all the flying witches hanging in stores.  My friend has one that she hangs up in her work.  It is so cool.
Well my SU demo friend Cheryl made this card while I was with her.  She thought it was as she called it "a Clown Card".  I loved it.  It is really easy to make.  She used the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin' Pad found on page 23 of the Holiday catalog.  She used it to make the smoke coming out of the chimney and on the roof.  I loved this non traditional looking card.  As time went on Cheryl now loves the card too!

Don't you just love this card?  The blue card stock is our midnight muse in color.  I am so glad she made it.

I hope you are getting your Halloween cards, etc completed.  Tomorrow is October already!  Yikes time is flying.  Janice

Last sneak peak

Good afternoon my stamping friends
I have a picture of my last 2 cards for the CARD BUFFET.  Remember you must RSVP for this class.  It is filling up so contact me soon.  I still have openings for all 3 sessions.  But you don't want to be too late and not get in.  The dates are Thursday, Oct. 11th from 1-4:30pm or Friday, Oct. 12th from 6:30-10pm or Saturday, Oct. 13th from 1-4:30pm.  The cost is $10 for 5 cards.  Any additional cards you make will be $1.50 per card.  You may make up to 3 of one design.  Now I am sure you will like more than one of the cards I have designed.......
These last two cards were chosen because I know many of you like birthday cards.  These would make great birthday cards.  I will have a few different sayings for you to choose from.  So you can make it whatever kind of card you are needing at this time.

Many of my cards are cards you can easily reproduce at home.  I try to do that so you can make more when you need (or want) to.  I know that if it takes too much time we don't tend to make many.
Recently I got a card from a friend and it was so wonderful that I was already tearing up before I knew what the card was for.  I know I get teary easily when I am happy.  So some of you might not be like me.  But I do know I get friends that tell me how much joy they get when they receive a hand made card.  I kindda like it when they tell me at first they could not tell it was hand made!
Life is busy.  But taking a moment to send someone a card to say you were thinking of them does so much for you and your friend.  Take the time to send someone a card by Monday.  Yes I'm challenging you.....  Let me know how it feels.  Janice

Headbands

Hi Stamping Friends
Today I am going to show you the headbands I made for St. Ed's Vendor Fair.  They were a big hit.  I sold them quite easily.  I only have 3 left.  They were very easy to make.

This is what some of them looked like.  I bought the headband itself.  Then I used the Big Shot to cut out the flowers.  I added some of SU fabric adhesive so I could layer them easily and back them.  I used SU ribbon to hold everything together.  I was thinking of little girls wearing them and I did not want them to come apart and risk a choking accident.  The ribbon actually goes right through the headband.  It was interesting because it ended up that adults bought them for themselves.  I had one girl about 14 that came and showed me how great hers looked on her.  She was so excited.
Stampin' Up's Big Shot is a must in any stampers house.  I use mine all the time.  If you would like to get one for half price contact me and we can get started on that.  Janice

Boots are made for walking

OK so boots are made for walking.  But these boots are made for a great card.  Here is another peak at 2 more cards we will be doing at the CARD BUFFET on either Oct. 11th, 12th or 13th.

This boot card is too darn cute.  You will want to make it a few times.  And best part of all it is not difficult to make.
The gratitude card is another great card for all those people that you want to let them know how much you appreciate them.  I will also show you tricks on how to make the leaf come out perfect.  You will be stamping and using the Big Shot with this card.  A simple but clean looking card if I do say so myself.
Off to my day job.  I hope you are enjoying this.  I know I am.  Janice

Vendor Fair

Last weekend I was at St. Ed's Fall Festival.  I participated in the vendor fair portion of it.  We were inside so we stayed nice and warm.  I had a great time seeing some of you at the event.  I met some very nice people and hope that many of them will contact me to attend some of my events.
I had fun making some fun packages.   The one that was the hit was the one that had the boot on it.  It was one of those stamp sets I was not going to buy when I first saw it.  Then I saw all the fun things people made with it and well.....  I had to have it.  It has been so much fun to make cards with it.  The little holder I made with the boot on it had pixie stixs in it.  The kids walking by all wanted their parent to buy it for them.  And some got there wish.
Here are a few pictures of my booth.

I put the bags through the big shot using the embossing folders.  The spider web was my favorite.  You can also see on the bottom of the picture the candy corn that I punched out using the pennant punch.  It worked so great.  You can make lots of them quickly.  Go try it.

As you can see I also put the brown paper bags through the big shot too.  It does so much for the look....
Have a super great day.  I hope it includes stamping.....  Janice

Another sneak peak

Have you been looking forward to the next sneak peak?  I hope so.  I got a few responses already for this event.  So time is a ticking.  Here is the next sneak peak.

So I am not only doing Fall cards.  I am doing a few Christmas cards.  I just love these two cards.  OK so I was not going to let anyone do the cardinal card because I love it so much I was going to save it for my Christmas card.  But I just love it and I want to share with you.  That is what I do is create and share!  You cannot see it in the photo but it does have sparkle to it.  I used the shimmer paint with some rubbing alchol.  It works so great and dries so fast.
The second card is using the new embossing folder that SU came out with.  I also used the new coordination card stock and sanded it gently.  Then I added with a dauber the glimmer paint on the edge.  OHHHHH it looks so beautiful.  I also added some dazzling details on the red flowers.  You will love these two cards too.

CARD BUFFET EVENT

Good evening my stamping friends

I have a new event that I am hoping many of you will attend.  I will be posting pictures of the 8 cards I have designed for this event.  You will need to check back every few days to see more of them.  I'm just tempting you a little at a time.  Here is the first 2 cards.

I love the colors of Autumn.  My favorite color is orange.  In Stampin' Up I love Pumpkin Pie.  It goes with so many things.  Plus I love Pumpkin Pie, Custard and just about anything else pumpkin related.......
These two cards are fun fall cards.  I love the simplicity of the leaves card.  I am a clean look stamper more often than not.  The inside is also decorated but you will need to come to the Card Buffet to see what is inside!
Those of you that know me well, know I love my cats.  Squee and Clay.  They are so much fun to watch play.  Sometimes Squee gets a little rough for Clay.  Clay has a certain cry that says OK I have had enough.  Squee does stop.  Squee has been with us longer so he rules or at least thinks he rules.
The cat card has the googlie eyes on it.  I just love that SU has come out with the right size eyes.  It was so frustrating to look for googlie eyes before.  I always found them too big or too many sizes in one package.  Still have them sitting in a drawer......  Now this cat card could be for Halloween but it could also be a Fall card or birthday card for someone who's birthday is in the Fall.
So here is just a sneak peak at 2 of the 8 cards I have designed for the CARD BUFFET which will take place at my house on:
Thursday, Oct. 11th from 1-4:30pm or
Friday, Oct. 12th from 6:30-10pm or
Saturday, Oct. 13th from 1-4:30pm
How this event will work is you must RSVP for this class.  The cost is $10.  This will be for your first 5 cards.  You can choose the day of the event which cards you want to make.  You can make up to 3 of any design.  After the first 5 cards you will be charged $1.50 per additional cards that you make.  Example - if you make 8 cards you will be charged $14.50.  If you make 6 cards you will be charged $11.50.
There are 5 basic rules for this event.

  1. You must RSVP for the class.
  2. You must only make 3 of any design.
  3. You must bring your own adhesive.
  4. You must be kind to everyone stamping.
  5. You must have fun and laugh.
So what are you waiting for RSVP today.  janiceborchart@yahoo.com

I'm waiting.....  Janice
