Product Class Tomorrow

I am so excited for tomorrow's class.  The stamp set everyone is receiving is Moon Lake.  It is such a great stamp set.  Every one of my customers that will be attending the class tomorrow has signed up because they are always looking for masculine cards.  This set is perfect for it. 

I have used Adventure Bound DSP Paper Stack in every card.  This paper is so awesome that some people are afraid to use it.  I was one of them.  I did not want to cut it.  It was too precious to cut it up.  Well once I did I have had more fun with it.  OK I will show you my favorite card.  The best part is that it is so simple but so masculine.

My picture does not do it justice.  The back layer is basic gray.  The birch bark is the DSP.  I stamped the bird in Basic Gray.  I decided not to put any other color in it.  Do you have any suggestions of what you would add to this card?  I would love to hear your thoughts.  Janice

Stacked with Love DSP Paper Stack

Today again I am showing you one of the great things about the paper stack called Stacked with Love.  I love how SU did this paper.  One side of the paper is all black and white designs.  The other side is Real Red, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Calypso Coral.  Many of my customers do not send much out for Valentines Day so they don't like buying paper that is geared for that occasion.  Well this paper makes it great for all different occasions.  You have seen I used it for many things and not specifically for Valentines Day.  Today I have another example of how I used the paper stack.

I used a must have stamp set, Sheltering Tree.  It is so versatile.  The main card is black.  Sorry I took the picture on my black mat not thinking.  The next layer is whisper white.  I used a ruler and made the real red stitches using the fine point of the marker.  The little squares are the dotted paper from the paper stack.  I layered it with basic black so they would pop.  Remember a few days ago I said I love black, white and red together.  Well here I did it again.  You could make this card using another color besides red.  I love the red ribbon.  Note that in the upper left corner by the tree I used the ticket punch.  I have discovered that punching that little ticket can be a great way to slip ribbon through.  Here I punched the red and white piece together, put the ribbon through it.  Then layered the black behind.  The black showing through I think makes it strikingly good.  I stamped the inside with real red saying of thinking of you.  I tend to make many of my cards so I can use them for many different reasons.  That way I can always have a card ready for anything that comes up.

Simple and Fun Card

Here is another card for my February 4 cards for $10.  I love the simplicity of this card.  I used the Stacked with Love DSP paper stack that is in the current Occasions Catalog (pg 5).  My favorite color is orange/coral.  So this card really meets my comfort zone.  I used Crisp Cantaloupe for the base.  The polka dot paper is from the paper stack.  It is black, white and crisp cantaloupe.  The other piece of the paper stack under the flower is Calypso Coral.  Then I stamped the flower in Calypso Coral.  I pulled out my star burst framelit for the black piece in the middle of the flower.  I stamped the middle of the flower with the stamp that is in this flower stamp set.  I used the circle framelits smallest one even though it was cutting off some of the stamped image.  Then I added a pearl in the center of it.  The new ribbon is found in the Occasions catalog.  It is so fun to work with.  Adds that great feel.  The stamp set is Petal Potpourri found on page 23.  It also can be in a bundle with the punch.  This flower is so easy to punch out.  SU made it easy by making the petals all similar so there is little guess work to it.  I did not think I needed this flower stamp set.  But as I saw it and then played with it, I had to have it.  It is very fun.   Janice

Painted Petals

I love this card.  My friend Beth loves the word amazing.  So this one is for you Beth. 

The stamp set Painted Petals appears overwhelming for my customers.  But as they have played with it, it has become easy to produce a beautiful scene.  Here I used Melon Mambo and Old Olive.  I stamped the larger flower full strength once and then stamped again without re-inking.  The smaller flowers I stamped off before stamping them.  It makes it look like I used different pink colors.  But it was only one.  I masked the flowers slightly with a scrap paper when I was doing the stems and leaves. 

To make the Melon Mambo frame I used two sizes of the square framelits.  I cut both the white card stock and the Melon Mambo card stock using the largest of the two sizes I chose.  Then I took the next size smaller and cut that out of the middle of the Melon Mambo one to give me the frame.  Then I added the Melon Mambo ribbon across the bottom of the frame (after I had the flowers adhered to the frame).  I used Stampin' Up dimensionals on the framed art piece and put it on the front of the white card.  Then I added the Melon Mambo bow.  I put a glue dot on each of the bow loops.  I have found that to help keep my bows on better.  When I put it on the knot, sometimes it came off too easily.  So little tip for you. 

On the word piece I had a smudge that was in the top corner so I fixed it by adding a flower.  I think that made it even better.  So mistakes can produce amazing results!  I did not take a picture of the inside but I always like to finish the card for my customers.  So I added more flowers to the lower right side.  This is a card I think you would write something special to someone.

Sunday Snow Day

Well the snow has fallen here.  So it is a good day to spending stamping.  Here is a card I designed yesterday for my February card class.

I love red, black and white in almost anything.  I chose this for Valentines Day.  I love tulips better than roses.  I know not everyone agrees with me.  I thought the doily on the side gave it that little feminine touch.  I used Cherry Cobbler Dark and Light Blendabilities on the tulips.  Have I told you how much I love these?  They can help those that are not artists look like they are artists.  I love how good they make my customers feel as they hold their cards and admire it.  Makes me proud.

I made a second card with a different piece of the  DSP paper stack.  I did this because I know I will have more than 8 people at my class.  I did buy 2 of the paper stacks and that gives me 8 of each design.  As a demonstrator I make sure I will have enough of whatever I am using for my classes.  I don't want anyone not to be able to make it.  This was a good way to show how just changing the paper made a slight difference but I think an OK difference. So help me out and let me know which one you like best.  The first one or the second one.  Then I will let you know what my customers say.  Thanks for your comments.  Janice
