Another Hostess Card

I saw this card and had to CASE it.  It was made by Becky Roberts.  She does outstanding stuff.  I do love my flavored coffee.  I am a black coffee drinker these days.  Trying to keep the calories low.  One of my favorite coffees is Island Coconut.  I am sitting here drinking it.  The aroma is so soothing.  It takes me to the islands far far away.  OK back to stamping.  So what do you think of the Perfectly Blend Stamp Set?  Let me know your thoughts.  Are you using that stamp set?
Isn't this just a fun card?  I love the stir thing......  Love how the doily is slightly folded.  If you have not ordered this set go order it and then you can have your coffee.........  Enjoy!!!!!!Janice

Hostess Club

I have a hostess club that meets monthly.  They are a group of 6 stampers that love to learn, stamp, talk, laugh and make lots of cards!  They each buy $25 of SU product a month.  Each of them is the hostess for one of the 6 months.  That person then gets the hostess FREE items.  They are loving it.  If you and some of your friends or family members would like to be part of a hostess club on your own or with other people give me a call.

This is one of the cards that we will be doing this month.  They cannot wait to learn how to make it.  Don't you just love that bee?  He is so darn cute.  SU has a framelit so you don't have to cut him out by hand.  Just use your Big Shot.  I love my Big Shot.

This is the inside of the card.  That bee is in a hurry to get some where.......  I hope he does not stop and sting you on his way there.

Have a great day.  I really do appreciate any comments.  They can be short.  Just let me know if you are liking my blog.  Thank you.  Janice

August 4 Card Class for $10

This is one of the beautiful cards we will be doing at my August Card Class.  The stamp set is a hostess set called Simply Sketched.  The entire set is so beautiful.  Check it out on page 205 in the main catalog.  You can get it by having a card party or a catalog party or just order $150 yourself.

The yummy ribbon is 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim in Strawberry Slush page 173 of the main catalog.  Many of my customers are buying this up.  It stretches so easily.  As you can see on this card it I wrapped it around the circle.

The Designer Series Paper I used is Gingham Garden on page 153 of the main catalog.  It has been one of my favorites this year.  I am on my second package of it and it is almost gone.

I think the tiny pearls add a lot to this card.  I hope you will sign up for the card class.  Time is running out. Janice

Another Shaving Cream Card

This card was another easy card to make.  I used the shaving cream technique I talked about yesterday.  See that post for details on how to do it.  It was fun to use the framelit and then show the stamped image under it.  This is again a very easy card to make many of.  Use different colors to make it different.  Use a different shape to make it look another way.  Let me hear what you make.

Here is another shaving cream background.  This one you can see the crisp cantaloupe in the right corner.......  I told you I used a little bit of crisp cantaloupe.  You can also see it softly blended in the upper middle of the card.
I am loving the stamp set Perfect Blend.  It is so easy to use and make your own colored belly band.  Keeping your fingers from getting burnt was never so pretty as what you can do with this set.
People have asked me what stamp set does the saying come from.  Well it is a fun word set called Yippee-Skippee! found on page 37 of the main catalog.  It is right below Perfect Blend.  So now go have two cups of your favorite coffee (or tea) and sit back and look through the catalog.  Then head on over to my SU website and order these two sets so you can make this card.  http:/createwithjanice.stampinup.net
 Happy stamping my friends.........

Shaving Cream Technique

I have had so much fun stamping for the last 24 hours.  I was at a friend's house, Dianne, Friday night and then again Saturday morning and afternoon.  I got so much accomplished.  You will get to see it this week as I blog each day (hopefully).

The first card I want to share with you is using the shaving cream technique.  It smelled like a man was around......  How this technique works is you put a small pile of shaving cream on a paper plate.  Then add a few drops of reinker to it.  You can cut through it if you want but don't mix it too much.  You don't really want brown.......  Then gently lay a piece of glossy paper on top of the shaving cream.  Put the paper back on the table and use a paper towel and gently rub the shaving cream around the piece of card stock.  Continue to do this until all the shaving cream is off the card stock.  You should have a beautiful marble look to your paper.  Now it is really important to use colors that work well together.  We discovered that too much baked brown sugar looked like dog poop.....  Well here is the card!
Isn't this just beautiful?  I used Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar and just a little of Crisp Cantaloupe.  You can't see much of the Cantaloupe but it is really there.  Then I stamped the sandpipers with Black Stazon.  Very simple card but I love this card.  I will be doing this card in my upcoming 4 Card Class this month.
Class is on Saturday, August 17th at 8:30am or Tuesday, August 20th any time between 8:30am and 8pm or Wednesday, August 21st between 2-8pm or Saturday, August 24th at 8:30am.  RSVP within 72 hours of the class that you are coming to.  The cost is only $10.  Janice

Wetlands

This card I CASE completely.  It was so beautiful and so simple.  I think it took me a whole 7 minutes to complete the card.  I was inspired by Lisa Young.  She made this beautiful card.  I hope you will make it too.
It only was one piece of whisper white cardstock!  I stamped the stamps using Baked Brown Sugar.  Then used my daubers to LIGHTLY add Baked Brown sugar for the sand and Coastal Cabana for the water.  Now how much easier can you get?  Well I know some of my stampers would say they cannot dauber as lightly as me.  It takes time.  But you have to use less to make this card so soft and beautiful.  Try it and let me know.  Janice

Wetlands Again

I know I told you I had fun playing with the Wetlands Stamp Set.......  Well here is another card I saw from Julie Wadlinger on Splitcoast.  I changed the Designer Series Paper to be "Afternoon Picnic DSP" (page 161 main catalog). I liked that I could stamp on the DSP for the saying.
Again this is an easy card to make.  I am a stamper that likes to have something completed to show for my time.  That is why I am not a quilter.  Quilting takes too long to get a completed project (even thought I love the quilt projects when they are done).

I used Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede markers with Black Stazon.  I stamped the goose in black stazon then went over the grass blades with my Old Olive marker (fine point).  I used the aqua painter for his Soft Suede body but you could just use your Soft Suede marker too.

If you have not bought Wetlands yet you are missing out on a great stamp set.  It was one of my MUST haves after looking at the catalog for the first time.  It is on the top right hand side of the page (69).
126695 Wood $21.95
126697 Clear $16.95
Hurry up and order it!  You will not regret it.  It is going to be a great stamp set for Fall cards........  Jump on to my stampin' up website to order.  http://createwithjanice.stampinup.net

Calm Christmas

This stamp set "Calm Christmas" was one of the first stamp sets that stood out for me in the new Holiday catalog.  I love the saying.  It is such an easy stamp to use.  Remember when you have a big stamp like this one, make sure you sand it lightly with your sanding block or emery board.  It helps to make the ink stay on your stamp better.

It is difficult to see the beauty of this card with my camera.  But trust me it is stunning........  The main card is Night of Navy.  The first layer is whisper white, then at the bottom is our new Silver Foil (oh it is so beautiful).  I put it through the Big Shot using the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (page 24 & 26 in Holiday catalog).  I used white embossing powder on the bird.  I added the silver 1/8" ribbon (Page 28 in Holiday catalog) up in the corner.  I think I could have added the "Peace on Earth" saying and punched it out to the bottom right hand corner.  I will probably do that later.  Janice

Wetlands

Ok I have been playing with the stamp set Wetlands.  It is such a great set to make manly cards.  I am having so much fun.  Here is one of my favorites.

I used Basic Black and Very Vanilla cardstock.  The bird paper in the back ground is from Modern Medley Designer Series Paper.  The stripe along the bottom is another piece from the same Modern Medley Designer Series.  Then I used a Very Vintage Designer Button.  Then punched a little black flower from itty bitty shapes punch pack.  Added a pearl to the center.  It was easy to make and is stunning!  Please leave me a comment.  I love to hear from people,  Janice
